Foo of the Fortnight

From Tel'Laerad Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

Every other Wednesday night, the Tel'Laerad staff on the IRC network call users to the network lobby to nominate their favourite RPs and IRC channels for "RP of the Fortnight" and "Channel of the Fortnight" positions, gaining a little publicity on the front page of Tel'Laerad's website and the logon news of the network for the next two weeks, and making people aware of the major places and roleplays on Tel'Laerad.

Anyone, including the GMs/owners of the RPs and channels, can nominate an RP or channel, and people are invited to show their support for given nominations. The staff member calling for the nominations will select the RP and channel based on consensus of the users there and their own judgement. The amount of support shown by other users for RPs or channels is the biggest factor.

RP of the Fortnight

Any current, public RP on Tel'Laerad can be nominated for RP of the Fortnight. Mature RPs which use channels flagged under IRC-only rule two, "Channels flagged as explicit cannot be advertised", may or may not be permitted on a case by case basis; feel free to suggest them and the member of staff calling for the nominations will judge.

A short description of the RP and its name will be placed in logon news for the IRC network and on the front page of the website. This can be provided by a GM, the nominating person, or written by the member of staff with the nominating person's help.

Channel of the Fortnight

Any public channel on Tel'Laerad may be nominated, with the exception of dedicated IC or OOC channels for an RP, which are advertised with their RP via RP of the Fortnight. Channels flagged under IRC-only rule two are also not eligible for Channel of the Fortnight. We prefer to pick non-official channels, but if one is nominated and supported, it has a fair chance of being selected.

The channel's name and a short description of its subject, and perhaps why it is awesome, will be placed in logon news for the IRC network and on the front page of the website. This, again, can be provided by a channel owner, the nominating person, or written by the member of staff calling for nominations.
